LaGrange Walking Tour
Take this self-guided walking tour through LaGrange's Historic Central District including all buildings named to the National Register of Historic Places.  Many of the buildings date from the 1830's and contain interesting shops and restaurants.  Stop at the Country Courthouse, c. 1874-75, designed in the Renaissance Revival Style.

Oldham County History Center
This interpretive museum opened in Summer of 1999.  The Center is an exciting addition to the county, featuring exhibits about the county's history, a replica of the interurban railroad which ran through Oldham County between Louisville and Cincinnati, and an outdoor Heritage Walk.

Rob Morris Home, LaGrange
This stately, white frame house is the former home of the founder of the Order of the Eastern Star, Dr. Robert Morris.  Although still a private residence, visitors can take guided tours by appointment.  Dr. Morris is buried in the LaGrange Cemetery.

D.W. Griffith Sites
David Wark Griffith, an Oldham County native, is buried at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Centerfield.  The pioneer filmmaker, whose Civil War epic, Birth of a Nation, set a new standard for Hollywood in 1915, visited Oldham County often during his Hollywood years and spent time with his mother in the LaGrange home which he bought for her at 206 N. Fourth Street.

Duncan Memorial Chapel
Located in a beautiful pastoral setting in Floydsburg, this charming chapel is a favorite site for weddings.  Built in 1936, by Alexander E. Duncan as a memorial to his beloved wife Flora, the Early English Gothic chapel is built of native stone and is located in one of Kentucky's oldest cemeteries.

Harrods Creek Baptist Church
Built in 1797 by the first Baptists in the county, Harrods Creek, near Brownsboro, is one of the oldest Baptist churches in Kentucky.

Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve
Developed on the family land of Virginia C. Mahan, the preserve encompasses 100 acres near Goshen, including the family home which dates from 1807, nature trails, wildlife exhibits, an old springhouse, and birds on the mend who are part of the preserve's rehab program.

Confederate Cemetery
Pewee Valley is the site of the only state burial ground for Confederate veterans of the Civil War and a popular stop for genealogists tracing their Southern roots.

Yew Dell Gardens
Yew Dell Gardens is the former home, garden, and arboretum of the late commercial nurserman Theodore Klein.  His unique collection of rare garden plants, display gardens, and unique architectural features is being developed into a major horticultural display, education, and research center.  Because of its natural beauty and unique architectural features, Yew Dell Gardens is a wonderful setting for weddings and other important events.  Please visit the Yew Dell Gardens web site for additional information including tours, membership and rental opportunities.
